Accreditation guidelines for journalists
Journalists with press cards from the following organizations are accredited
- German Journalists' Association (DJV)
- German Union of Journalists (dju in ver.di)
- Federal Association of German Newspaper Publishers (BDZV)
- Association of German Magazine Publishers (VDZ)
- Association of German Sports Journalists (VDS
- Freelen
- and persons with the international press card of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) in Brussels
The following journalists require a journalistic editorial assignment for their accreditation
- Pass holders of journalistic trade associations
- who present an editorial assignment relating to the current trade fair (original letterhead, not a copy) or legitimize themselves by means of named press receipts Receipts must not be older than 3 months
- who present a current imprint in which they are listed as editors/photographers/permanent employees or authors
- Radio and TV journalists, production companies who can present an editorial assignment from a broadcaster (private or public/legal) with original letterhead (no copy)
- Journalists/photographers
- who submit an order from an editorial office relating to the current trade fair (original letterhead, not a copy) or legitimize themselves by means of press receipts marked with their name. Receipts must not be older than 3 months.
- who present a current imprint in which they are listed as editors/photographers/permanent employees or authors.
- Members of youth press organizations. They receive a one-off day ticket on presentation of their valid ID.
- Due to the general accessibility of the Internet and the associated lack of verifiability of one's own journalistic performance, members of Internet editorial offices will only be accredited upon presentation of a recognized press card or upon proof that the online publication is established in the respective industry and has a corresponding reach. The medium/website must have existed for more than 3 months and be regularly updated
- Exceptions: Internet editorial offices that belong to full editorial offices or publishing houses, e.g. SPIEGEL online, nordbayern.de etc.
- Persons who can prove that they work for the press and public relations department of a public authority or institution (e.g. press spokespersons, company press offices of exhibiting companies).
- All foreign press representatives (residing outside Germany) who can document their affiliation to the press, e.g. with the official press card of the respective country.
- Foreign press representatives residing in Germany will be accredited upon presentation of an ID card valid in Germany (see above).
- Volunteers, temporary staff and compulsory interns will only be accredited on presentation of a valid employment or training contract which states that the journalistic activity is the main purpose of the training or employment. If this is the case, these applicants will receive a one-day ticket.
Not accredited:
- Persons without any credentials
- Employees of the publishing house management, advertising or publicity department
- Germans resident in Germany who present a foreign press card, e.g. Fleet Street London, Universal Press (USA), citypress24 (England), City News (England) etc.
- Persons with an expired press card
- Persons to whom other journalists have written the editorial confirmation; this applies in particular to relatives and spouses
- Persons with house passes without an editorial order
- Persons who only use the broadcasting facilities of an open channel
There is no right to accreditation!
Important note:
The press and public relations departments of RETRO Messenreserve the right to request proof of coverage of the trade fairs.
