RETRO CLASSICS® STUTTGART: all facets of the scene

World's largest trade fair for driving culture: Extensive range of exhibits, theme exhibitions and accompanying programme on an area of 140,000 square metres in ten halls

Superlatives are the norm rather than the exception in the now almost 20-year history of RETRO CLASSICS® Stuttgart. The 2019 edition will also not be short on brilliant highlights: on a total area of 140,000 square metres the world's largest trade fair for driving culture, which was recently crowned the "Show of the Year" in the Historic Motoring Awards, will present all the facets of a lively scene. Enthusiasts, collectors, fans and "hobby car mechanics" will literally find in all halls at Messe Stuttgart everything their heart desires – and much much more relating to automobiles as a cultural asset.

Spacious brand halls
It is a tradition that each of the "great" brands in the automobile industry have their own exhibition hall: the L-Bank Forum (Hall 1) will therefore become the Porsche Hall. In addition to dealers and relevant clubs, the Porsche Museum will also have a presence in Hall 1. In Hall 4, which will carry the name of the Bavarian car manufacturer BMW for the first time, visitors can look forward, for example, to a large special motorsports show. The new Paul Horn Hall (Hall 10) in the western part of the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre will be, just like this year, the presentation platform for Mercedes Benz.

Young classic cars
Anyone not just wanting to collect, maintain and cherish classic cars, but also primarily drive them in a carefree way, is increasingly looking for a car in the NEO CLASSICS® segment: noble one-offs, rare special edition cars and other rarities up to 20 years have long been a growing segment on the classic car market. Interested visitors meet at the NEO CLASSICS® selling market in Hall 5. This is an important part of the huge vehicle selling market which occupies other areas in the Oskar Lapp Hall (Hall 6, commercial), in the gallery of the L-Bank Forum (Hall 1), on the trade fair centre piazza and in the Rothaus Park.

International driving experiences
The automobile is loaded with countless emotions as a cultural asset: freedom, independence and highway romanticism are inextricably linked with the mighty street cruisers which characterised traffic in the United States during the 1950s. Fans of American cars will therefore flock to Hall 5 while the Italian driving experience and lifestyle will predominate right next door in Hall 7.

Interesting special shows
Visitors to every "Retro" eagerly look forward to the lavish special shows, each of which illustrate a specific aspect of automobile and technology history. In addition to aficionados of exclusive American vehicles, two-wheel enthusiasts will also get their money's worth: rare sidecars, for example, can be admired on the stand of AMSC Leonberg in Hall 8. An exhibition by Bulldog- und Schlepperfreunde Württemberg e.V. (Württemberg Bulldog and Tractor Enthusiasts' Club) will feature the revolutionary equipment carrier for the agricultural industry (Hall 8).

Entertaining accompanying programme
What would RETRO CLASSICS® be without its accompanying programme? The Allianz Retro Night (Paul Horn Hall, Hall 10) on Thursday evening will all be about seeing and being seen when the first impressions of the trade fair are exchanged in a relaxed atmosphere. Pure thrills are promised during the popular Classic Bid Auction (Saturday, Hall 4) when (not only) dream automobiles will come under the hammer before the eyes of a spellbound audience.

RETRO CLASSICS® STUTTGART is the world's largest trade fair for driving culture and was chosen as the "Show of the Year" in the Historic Motoring Awards 2018. Lovers and collectors of historic automobiles, brand representatives and members of relevant historic and classic car clubs have long regarded this international platform as a must-attend event at the start of the historic and classic car season. On a total area of around 140,000 square metres the unique trade fair concept impresses with its comprehensive range of historic and classic cars, youngtimers, NEO CLASSICS, US cars, historic motorcycles and commercial vehicles, as well as with its first-class accompanying programme, a huge vehicle selling market and highly interesting special shows.
