RETRO CLASSICS ® crowned „Show of the Year"

Historic Motoring Awards 2018: a trade fair honoured for the first time / RETRO Promotion curating a new mobility department at the FBQ Museum in Qatar

They are regarded as the highest accolade in the world of historic and classic cars: the Historic Motoring Awards 2018 were presented in London at the end of October 2018. In the eighth edition of this renowned industry event a trade fair, i.e. RETRO CLASSICS®, triumphed over all other competitors in the category "Show of the Year“ for the first time. Karl Ulrich Herrmann, Managing Shareholder of Stuttgarter RETRO Messen GmbH, accepted the Award presented by an international jury at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane Hotel.

This prestigious Award is "wonderful recognition of our work," says Herrmann. "The feedback from visitors regarding the quality of our event is confirmation that we have done everything properly – and that we are on the right road to the future.“ Herrmann is delighted that RETRO Messen GmbH did not apply to take part in the Awards: "RETRO CLASSICS® was suggested by the press.“

However, Herrmann is not content to rest on his well-deserved laurels since he has long been preoccupied with planning of the next RETRO trade fairs in Cologne (15 to 18 November 2018), Nuremberg (7 to 9 December 2018) and Stuttgart (7 to 10 March 2019). He can also soon look forward to another highly interesting task: a new department showcasing the history of mobility in the Emirate on the Persian Gulf will be created in the Sheikh Faisal Bin Quassim Al Thani Museum in Qatar up until 2021. The Renningen-based company RETRO Promotion GmbH, which is co-managed by Herrmann and his son Andreas, was commissioned to implement this project. In its capacity as a consultant and marketing partner, RETRO Promotion GmbH is primarily responsible, for example, for organising the RETRO CLASSICS® trade fairs. Long-distance travellers with a keen interest in automobiles therefore have a right to be excited.

RETRO CLASSICS® STUTTGART is the world's largest trade fair for driving culture. Lovers and collectors of historic automobiles, marque representatives and members of relevant historic and classic car clubs have long regarded this international platform as a must-attend event at the start of the historic and classic car season. On a total area of around 140,000 square metres the unique trade fair concept impresses with its comprehensive range of historic and classic cars, youngtimers, NEO CLASSICS, US cars, historic motorcycles and commercial vehicles, as well as with its first-class accompanying programme, a huge vehicle selling market and highly interesting special shows.
